CHEESEMAKING CLASS PART 1- This is a practical relaxed hands on cheese making class. Somewhat different from the traditional cookery class. Louise Talbot from "Cutting the curd" will be leading the afternoon class in the theory of cheese making and is always happy to answer any questions you may have on the subject. Louise will be covering all aspects of soft cheese making and will guide you through some of the important practical steps to making cheese.
DETAILS - The class covers the following aspects of cheese making. Using raw farm or Supermarket milk, Vegetarian rennet and basic kitchen equipment. The class consists of a good mix of demonstration and hands-on. You'll learn to make halloumi, mascarpone and mozzarella cheese and butter. You'll also receive a folder of recipes and theory and learn about the science of turning milk into cheese. There will be a fun cheesy competition and quiz and at the end of the day you'll take home a selection of the cheese/butter … and will leave with the ability to make a wide range of cheese! The class concludes with some delicious fried halloumi.
Louise will have some cheese making kits (£30) available for purchase, NOT compulsory, but a service provided for those who’d like to get started at home straight away.
